Life of a Parts Counter Person...

I work behind a counter
In a pressure washer parts retail store
Sometimes I'm called Genius
Sometimes I'm called much more!

I claim I'm no expert
Yet when the washer gets sick,
Their mechanic comes and asks me
"What makes this darn thing tick?"

I'm supposed to know the numbers
Of pumps, unloaders, burners and gears
For every pressure washer made
For more than thirty years!

As an engineer and machinist
And handyman....my Lord
I'm supposed to be an Edison
Combined with Henry Ford.

But oh life would be a pleasure to me
And how I'd grin from ear to ear
If my customers could only tell me
The manufacturer, model, and year!!!!!
